Child Safety Policy

Safety & Privacy

Last Updated: August 1, 2026

Many HEA students are school-age, including our Madhyamik scholarship program. Protecting younger learners is treated as a foundational responsibility, not an afterthought — this Policy explains, plainly, how we approach it.

1. Registration & Guardian Involvement

Where a student is a minor under the age required by local law to independently consent to online services, registration requires a parent or legal guardian's involvement — either registering on the student's behalf or providing confirmed consent, and providing a guardian contact on the student's profile.

2. Communication Stays On-Platform

Teachers are required to keep all communication with minor students inside HEA's own monitored systems — live classes, the Doubts feature, official channels. A teacher contacting a minor student through personal phone, personal social media, or any channel outside the Platform is a serious violation of our Teacher Code of Conduct.

3. Teacher Vetting

Teachers join HEA through an application and review process before being granted access to teach, and every teacher agrees to our Teacher Code of Conduct, with its explicit child-safety obligations, as a condition of that access.

4. Live Class Safety

Live classes use waiting rooms and teacher-controlled access rather than open, unmoderated links. Where a class is recorded, this is disclosed in advance, and recordings are restricted to enrolled students' own study use.

5. What We Never Ask For

HEA will never ask a student — of any age — for a payment outside our official checkout, for personal information unrelated to their course, or for anything that should make them uncomfortable. If anyone claiming to represent HEA asks for something like this, please tell us immediately and don't comply.

6. AI Assistant & Minors

The AI Study Assistant is built to stay focused on English learning and to redirect conversations that drift outside that purpose, appropriate for an audience that includes school-age students. It is a learning tool, not a substitute for parental guidance or a confidant for personal matters.

7. Content Standards

All course content, live classes, and platform interactions are held to a standard appropriate for a mixed-age audience that includes minors, consistent with our Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy.

8. If Something Feels Wrong

If a student, parent, or guardian ever has a concern about a teacher's behavior, another student's conduct toward a minor, or anything else touching a young learner's safety, please contact us immediately at hidayetenglishacademy@gmail.com. Reports involving child safety are treated with the highest priority and reviewed without delay.

9. Data Protection for Minors

A minor student's data is protected under the same technical safeguards described in our Data Protection Policy, and a parent or guardian may request access to, or deletion of, their child's data through the process in our Privacy Policy.

10. Reporting to Authorities

Where a report raises a genuine concern about a child's safety that may require it, HEA will cooperate with appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.

11. Contact

For any child-safety concern, contact hidayetenglishacademy@gmail.com directly — this is never something you need to feel is 'too small' to raise.

12. Age-Appropriate Course Design

Course content, example sentences, and practice topics are written with a mixed-age audience in mind, avoiding mature themes that would be inappropriate for our younger, school-age learners, even in courses primarily taken by adults.

13. Parental Visibility

A parent or guardian who registered a minor's account, or who is listed as the guardian contact on a student's profile, is welcome to ask HEA directly about that student's attendance, progress, or any concern — we're glad to keep a genuinely involved parent informed.

14. Ongoing Commitment

Child safety isn't a one-time policy exercise for us — as HEA grows and adds features (like planned voice-based speaking practice), each new feature is reviewed for how it affects the safety of our younger students before it launches, not after.

15. Guardian Contact Details

We ask for accurate, up-to-date guardian contact information for minor students specifically so we have a reliable way to reach a parent quickly if a genuine concern ever arises — please keep this information current on the student's profile.

16. Balancing Independence and Protection

We want young learners to build real confidence and independence in their English practice, while keeping the surrounding environment safe. These aren't in tension — a well-moderated classroom and monitored communication channels let a student practice freely without unnecessary restriction.
