Intellectual Property & Copyright Policy

This Policy explains ownership of the content on HEA — course material, brand assets, and platform design — and how we handle any copyright concerns raised about content on the Platform.

1. HEA's Content

All course videos, lesson text, quiz and test questions, downloadable notes, the HEA name and logo, and the design and structure of the Platform itself are the intellectual property of Hidayet English Academy, created by our teachers or licensed for our use. This content is protected by copyright law.

2. Your License to Use It

Enrolling in a course gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use that course's content for your own learning, for as long as your enrollment or the platform provides access. It does not transfer any ownership to you.

3. What You May Not Do

• Copy, download outside the Platform's own tools, or redistribute course videos, lessons, or materials.
• Share your account or course access with someone who hasn't enrolled.
• Republish, resell, or use HEA content to build a competing product or course.
• Use the HEA name, logo, or brand assets without our written permission.

4. Teacher-Created Content

Content created by HEA teachers as part of their role — lesson videos, question banks, materials — becomes part of the HEA course library, used to teach current and future students, as described in our Teacher Code of Conduct. Teachers retain the right to be credited as the creator of their material.

5. Student-Submitted Content

Homework, writing samples, and other work you submit remains yours. By submitting it for grading, you grant HEA a limited license to store, display it to your teacher for review, and — only with your separate, explicit consent — feature anonymized excerpts as an example for other students.

6. Third-Party Content

Where a lesson references or embeds third-party material (a news article, an image, a piece of media) under fair use, license, or with permission, ownership of that specific material remains with its original owner.

7. Reporting a Copyright Concern

If you believe content on HEA infringes your copyright, contact hidayetenglishacademy@gmail.com with: a description of the copyrighted work, the specific location on our Platform where you believe infringement occurs, and your contact information. We investigate every genuine report and will remove or restrict access to content found to be infringing.

8. Counter-Notice

If content of yours is removed following a report and you believe this was done in error, you may contact us with an explanation; we review counter-notices in good faith.

9. Trademarks

'Hidayet English Academy' and our logo are our trademarks. Use of them to imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation without our written permission is not allowed.

10. Open Educational Practices

Where we occasionally reference openly licensed material (for example, certain public-domain texts used in reading comprehension exercises), we credit the source and respect the terms of that license, distinct from our own proprietary course content.

11. AI-Generated Content

Where course material is developed with the assistance of AI tools (for drafting or ideation, always reviewed and finalized by a human teacher), the resulting lesson remains HEA's proprietary content under this Policy in the same way as any other teacher-created material.

12. Duration of Protection

Our intellectual property rights in course content, the platform, and our brand continue for as long as protected under applicable copyright and trademark law, and are not limited to the period of your individual enrollment.

13. International Copyright Recognition

Because HEA serves students across India, Bangladesh, and internationally, we rely on the broad international recognition of copyright protection under treaties such as the Berne Convention, meaning our content is protected in most countries our students access it from, not solely in the jurisdiction where HEA operates.

14. Fair Educational Use by Students

Using a short excerpt from a lesson to ask your teacher a clarifying question, or referencing a grammar rule you learned in your own notes, is exactly the kind of personal educational use this license is meant to support — it's systematic redistribution, not individual reference, that this Policy is aimed at.

15. Updates to This Policy

As HEA's content library and licensing arrangements grow, this Policy will be updated to reflect any changes, with the 'Last Updated' date revised accordingly.
